Today Tommy's preschool class went to the Apple Orchard. Tommy and I were assigned a buddy, his name was Nate. Nate was a fantastic talker and so well behaved. Nate was 3 1/2 and has a cousin named Hunter and a friend named Sam. Tom told Nate that he has two sisters Sammie and Allie. Tommy was proud to anounce that to his new friend. We got to ride the bus which was a thrill for both Tommy and Nate. Then we walked up to the barn and watched a movie about Johnny Appleseed. Do you know that he really did wear a pot on his head while he was walking across the nation making apple orchards and selling Bibles? We got to learn about Bees, see a real be hive and learn why bees are so important for apples to grow. We then each got to pick 6 apples. Tommy himself has already eaten 3 of them while Sammie has eaten two all the way down to the seeds, she even ate the core! Who knew she liked apples so much.
